Everyone requires a certified copy of their South African passport which you can obtain at any main post office in your area for ±£13.
If you were born outside of South Africa and have SA citizenship, you will need a copy of your birth certificate. Take along your SA ID and make copies if you have it.
It may be a good idea to print out extra forms and fill in the essentials just in case you got a part wrong and need to redo.
Wherever necessary you should provide any original documents with a copy.

If you do not know the ID numbers of your parents and other family members, just state you do not know on the citizenship forms and complete the information you do have.

“When you get into the waiting area there is a second area around the corner you cannot see, you need to find the South African section, we sat for 30 minutes and then heard about another waiting room around the corner.”
