Formula E is set to race through Cape Town in 2023, here’s the track layout

Cape Town will be the first Southern African city to host the Formula E, held in 12 destinations around the globe. Formula E is the single-seater motorsport championship for electric cars and it’s gaining in popularity.

February 25th 2023 is the allocated date for the Cape Town E-Prix, however some doubt has been cast if it is able to take place as planned next year.

The Cape Town E-Prix could see 33 000 spectators and the race is expected to bring in an estimated R2 billion in tourism and more than R500 million in media exposure for Cape Town.

The Cape Town track is said to be one of the fastest in the Formula E series. Starting at Green Point precinct’s Vlei Road, into Helen Suzman Boulevard, down Granger Bay Boulevard and then heading along the seafront on Mouille Point’s Beach Road, before turning into Fritz Sonnenberg Road on the home stretch to the finish line.
