Boost your immune system

Not only do we have to deal with a global pandemic, it’s also that time of the year when your immune system decreases and the cold and flu bugs start doing the rounds.

Bulking up on antioxidants and Vitamin C, help us fight off infection and can be found in food sources including carrots, broccoli, watercress, cauliflower, peppers, berries, kiwi and citrus fruit.

Garlic is a great food source antioxidant, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial.  Try to have garlic every day. If you don’t enjoy garlic, you could consider taking garlic capsules.

Probiotics – nature’s antibiotics. Our balance of bacteria plays an important role in fighting off infection. Good food sources of probiotics include natural yoghurt and fermented foods.

Include supplements of zinc, vitamin C, vitamin D, turmeric and echinacea.

Ensure a good water intake to keep yourself hydrated. Avoid fizzy drinks and alcohol and make sure you get your 8 hours sleep.
