SAA and Lift increase flights in South Africa

With the recent collapse of Comair, there has been a strain on domestic flights in South Africa. Luckily South African Airways (SAA) and Lift airlines will be increasing their number of flights.

SAA will be doubling its mid-week flights to Cape Town from Johannesburg and to Mauritius, as well as the number of flights into Durban by up to 67%.

Over the next few months the privately-owned airline, Lift also aims to double if not triple its flights.

“This year, our expansion will be in the number of flights in the Golden Triangle (JNB, CPT, DUR). Our approach is a careful one, we are constantly monitoring demand. Comair exiting the market represents a big opportunity for us and this has expedited our growth, but the environment is still very challenging.” – Jonathan Ayache, CEO of LIFT
