10 Events to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Wherever you are in the UK there is bound to be some sort of Platinum Jubilee celebration nearby. Over 60 000 people in the UK have registered to host an event over this Royal celebratory long weekend.

We’ve selected 10 events around the country that may be of interest to you.

The Queen’s Birthday Parade
(Trooping the Colour), Buckingham Palace
Hosted by The Royal Family on Thursday, 2nd June at Buckingham Palace. More than 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians will come together in the traditional Parade to mark The Queen’s official birthday. If you cannot make it you can watch it live on BBC One.

Jermyn Street, Mayfair
Jermyn Street will close to traffic on Saturday, 4th June and host a quintessential British street party. Drink stalls, live entertainment and pop-up food stalls.

Gulliver’s Valley, Yorkshire
Gulliver’s Valley theme park in Sheffield will be hosting loads of fun family activities including live entertainment, street parties and stage shows all with a royal flair. Until 5th June. Visit gulliversvalleyresort.co.uk for more info.

Jubilee Street Party, The Refuge – Manchester
In true Refuge party style, the Jubilee street party on Friday, 3rd June will showcase a diverse range of up-and-coming talent alongside established names from around Manchester playing music with a tongue-in-cheek nod to the royal family. Visit www.skiddle.com for more information.

Windsor Platinum Jubilee, Windsor
Celebrations will begin on Thursday, 2nd June with the Windsor Platinum Jubilee Beacon lighting and fireworks from 9 pm on the Long Walk. Then on Saturday 4th June it’s the Jubilee Party in the Park on the Long Walk, with cars from every year 1952 to 2022 from 11 am to 4 pm, performances on the stage from 11 am until the live broadcast of Party at the Palace from London on our big screens from 8 pm, ending at 10.30 pm. There’s loads more events happening in the area too. A Jubilee Party & Food Festival at Dart’s Farm, Devon
Hosted on Thursday evening on 2nd June, your night will include a welcome drink and a selection of delicious canapes up on the Terrace Bar. A 2-course feast fit for a King in The Farm Table, all cooked over glowing charcoal embers followed by a classically British dessert. The evening will finish with live music from King Shambles!

Double Locks, Exeter
Double Locks has a jam-packed lineup of entertainment for this four day bank holiday weekend! The garden will be fully decorated and you can expect an unmissable live music lineup, along with face painting, cream teas and of course plenty of jugs of Pimms. Big Jubilee Lunch, Norwich
A Big Jubilee Lunch will take place in the city centre on Sunday, 5th June. Enjoy a traditional street party, complete with bunting and live music on the steps of City Hall. Live music and free activities such as a colouring wall and circus skills workshops to entertain younger guests. You can also take a seat at the 120m long picnic table any time between 11 am and 3 pm.

The Jubilee at Sacrewell, Cambridgeshire
Celebrate the Queen’s momentous Platinum Jubilee with a very special four-day event at Sacrewell, the popular heritage and visitor attraction just off the A47 and A1 near Peterborough. The proceedings will be starting on 2nd June, running until 5th June 2022 inviting visitors to share friendship, history and fun while exploring everything that Sacrewell has to offer from 9am – 4.30pm each day.

Highlights during the event will include an inflatable assault course, live music, children’s games, craft activities, a special Jubilee trail and a tractor display provided by Peterborough Farm Machinery Preservation Society from the 1950s to modern day, including a display of vintage tools and signs from the start of the Queen’s reign.

Blenheim Palace Food Festival, Oxfordshire
Running over the Platinum Jubilee Weekend, this festival is set on the grounds of the palace and offers themed and live entertainment, mouth-watering foods and classes to attend. Visit the website for more information. fantasticfoodfestivals.co.uk
